Our work in Eswatini began in 2008, with the goal of connecting vulnerable children and caregivers in remote communities in the Lubombo region to essential healthcare. At the time, our intervention targeted impoverished and isolated HIV affected children and their caregivers in the Maphiveni and Vuvulane communities, assisting them to access health care from Good Shepherd Hospital, 50km away. This initiative evolved into CHIPS, which now stands for Community Health Intervention Programme in Eswatini, and to ensure its sustainability and build a foundation for a local clinic, we established Kudvumisa Foundation (USA and Eswatini). From the beginning, we have prioritized employing and training local staff, a cornerstone of our approach. This not only creates empowerment within the community but also drives the delivery of culturally relevant and compassionate care. Today, we work alongside multiple marginalized populations in the Lubombo region, tackling the interconnected challenges of poverty, disease, food insecurity, and unemployment, with a particular focus on the well-being of women and children. Through our clinics and mobile outreach programs, we bring comprehensive healthcare services, including screenings, antenatal care, and HIV support, directly to remote communities.

Beyond healthcare, we are committed to fostering economic development through skills training and income-generating initiatives, empowering local families to earn a living. We also support mental well-being and strengthen community bonds through peer support groups. At Kudvumisa Foundation, we envision a future where the people of Lubombo can thrive, free from the constraints of poverty and HIV.

“Kudvumisa” means to praise in siSwati. We hope to add to the number in Revelation 7:9 standing before the throne singing “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
